2016 Holiday Beauty Tips and Trends (Part One)

Friday, November 18, 2016

Ready, Set, Go! The 2016 Holiday season is upon us! Everywhere we shop we see holiday decor! AAHHGH! I refuse to play one Christmas carol before its proper time. BUT! I DO love the holiday season AND the chance to dress up for a holiday party or two.

There are so many beautiful looks trending right now, I’m giddy with excitement! I am a self proclaimed beauty junkie. Confession, they say, is the first step! Ah, but who can resist the thrill of a new lipstick? The rush from the pop of a new color is better than a B12 shot! I like Smith & Cult’s new MATTE lip stain in “FLAT MAD HEAT”. Its red, is silky,  it doesn’t budge and its matte! This is  cool and a must for the season. Everyone looks great in a beautiful red lip.

Glitter for the eye’s. This is not what you think. The trend is SOFT and MINIMAL. The sparkle is kept to the corners of the eye right beside and under the lower lash line. There are lot’s of sparkly cosmetics to choose from, but if you simply use your cheek highlighter you can achieve the same effect. Apply a bit of highlighter to your fingertip and smudge around the corners of the eye. This look is instantly refreshing and brightenes up  puffy eyes. For more drama pair this with a smoky eye look.

Chanel is launching their Le Rouge collection. I love this look. A smoky wine/brown eye color paired with a red red lip. These colors are perfect for Fall and pair well with a messy braid and cozy boots for a festive Thanksgiving gathering.

Brooches as hair accessories. The hunt for a cute but “not too blingy” hair accessory is not an easy one. Look within your jewelry collection and perhaps at vintage shops for lapel brooches. These pieces are so simple to wear. Create a messy bun or braid on long hair with Oribe’s new Gold Lust Dry Shampoo to refresh your hair. Flip hair over and apply throughout, brush through and complete a braid or bun. Literally pin brooch into place on a section of hair and within minutes you look as if you've just stepped out of the salon.

Whatever you do, DO NOT leave the house without your hair on point! Reserve now for holiday cut and color services, and especially for holiday party up styles and blowouts. Leave it to the pros to create this season's prettiest color trends to enhance your style. Professional stylist’s LOVE playing with all the options in color now. Currently, deep Sangria and Merlot hair color is trending for those adventurous but not too daring. Intense and bright haircolor in all shades are a must if you wish to be the center of attention. For the soft at heart, with a hidden bit of mischief, try a lavender highlight mixed in with platinum blonde or silver gray hair color. THIS IS A PRETTY LOOK. If you have no time for color by all means PLEASE use an instant “root” cover spray. My go to touch up spray is “Salon In A Bottle”. Within minutes overdo haircolor looks refreshed with this temporary spray. Its waterproof, sweatproof, but washes away cleanly. Available in all natural hair colors and available at exclusive salons.

My wish for you is to stay well and rested through this holiday season. Be good to each other out there and give a smile to someone who doesn't have one. A smile is the prettiest look of all:)
